LOTT COMPLAINS ABOUT CARDINAL LAW

While on his way to apologize on the steps of a Food Lion supermarket, Senator Trent Lott took time to complain about the actions of Cardinal Law of Boston. During a hastily called news interview session, the Senator voiced his objection to the apologies that the Cardinal had been issuing. Lott noted that the American public has limited time and attention span for apologies and that Law was crowding onto Lott's turf. "After all", he stated, " Some CEO's may have been apologizing, but I am the one who has raised the process to an art form and I don't need any cleric drawing attention to himself"

In a related development, Senator Lott's press secretary denied that the Senator intends to resign on January 6th in order to become President of the Augusta National Golf Club.
