‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’
But may have been best not to let this supposedly momentous issue be decided by the courts. After all the procrastination by President Obama and military chiefs, this policy should be ended by these men and Congress.

As said, best course is for Congress to repeal; but action by our dysfunctional Senate is unlikely. Appeal and overturn has the advantage of not showing that all those discharges were unconstitutional. However, if the administration really opposes this misguided law, it should not appeal, end the discrimination now, and maybe the Senate will someday take appropriate action.
