Medicare
I guess that you may have somehow heard that a Democrat won a special election in a heavily Republican congressional district in NY, largely by opposing the Republican proposal for "fixing" Medicare.
Regardless of the politics or ideology, or ads showing grandma being thrown off a cliff, the Republican plan does not make economic sense. You can't save money by takiing millions of people off of the government program with admin costs of about 2% to private companies with admin costs + profits taking over 20% of the money. There are better ways to fix the system.
