Rick Perry Squares Off vs. Bachmann In Iowa
Congresswoman Bachmann won the Iowa Straw Poll, but the big news of the weekend was the entrance of Texas Governor into the campaign race. Backmann can't win but Perry or Romney could possibly beat President Obama.A Romney win would be bad for the country. He is a Republican. But a Perry win would be positively scary. Would he really make the government inconsequential in our lives, or would we be required to pray daily and wear cowboy boots?

Catherine and I sat listening in bed this morning to reports of the recent debate in which Bachmann was saying that Obamacare was socialised medicine and must be reversed.
Catherine wants to know if this is how it appears over there or whether the BBC is just reporting it selectively in order to make these people sound silly?

These people sound silly to those of us who are not nutty right wingers. Absurd claims that Obama is a socialist.
