LAWRENCE O'DONNELL - HERMAN CAIN
I'm a fan of Lawrence O'Donnell, but I think that last night he was way off on some of the questions he asked Herman Cain, contender for the GOP presidential nomination.
He started with questions regarding Cain's lack of participation in the civil rights movement in the 60s. He was critical of Cain for not leaving college to protest or march. Well, if all African-American left high school or college to descend on Athens, Georgia, that poor town would sink into the ground.
Then Mr. O'Donnell questioned Cain about "avoiding" service in the Viet Nam war. Mr. Cain responded that he had an essential job with the Navy Dept. and a favorable draft number. O'Donnell then pressed on, suggesting that Cain should have volunteered. Volunteer to go to the war in Viet Nam? Really?
