Excerpted from a post seen on Facebook -- Most people don't know it but back in 1912 Hellmann's Mayonnaise was made in England. In fact, 12,000 jars were on the Titanic, bound for Vera Cruz, Mexico after its stop in New York. Of course, it did not make it.
The people in Mexico were crazy about mayonnaise and they were so upset at this loss that they declared a National Day of Mourning. It occurs on May 5th and is known as "Sinko de Mayo"
