climate change

Since the US and many other nations seem to lack the will to take the necessary steps to address the threat of climate change, we probably will face slow extinction many years from now.
  But we could face a fast extinction from intense heat or cold if the earth and sun suddenly become closer or farther apart .Let's hope that by then we will know how to colonize other planets or will develop an effective shield around the earth.
