Voter IDs

Voter IDs

Good news that the Pennsylvania court struck down the PA voter ID law as an unreasonable, unconstitutional burden on voters.

It is clear that these laws are enacted in order to hold down the number of Democratic voters, mostly among minority groups. But it's difficult to prove this, although it is known that personal voter fraud is practically non existent.

Supporters often say that requiring IDs is reasonable since they are needed to board airplanes, open bank accounts, etc. But, unlike voting, these transactions are not constitutionally protected. Moreover, it is public policy to increase voter turnout, not to discourage it in any way.
