SADDAM HUSSEIN'S CAPTURE

Initial Thoughts. It's always good to get the bad guy. And if it has the desired effect of giving a psychological boost to the Iraqi people and reducing resistance, let's all cheer.

But let's realize that the capture changes little on the ground. After all, what we got was a rat cowering in a "spider hole". Hassein was gone long ago, out of power and, it seems, not directing armed resistance.

The world is much better off without this man. Just as it would be without Mugabe. The issue has been the false justification of this invasion, who is entitled to decide when to invade, and how to insure that there is a multilateral effort involved.
