Creating some jobs

Some of our unemployed, or soon to be unemployed, are young people just getting out of school. Finding a job,-almost any job, is extremely difficult. Why not use Americorps, and related organizations, to help alleviate this problem?

The advantages are clear. Since these are existing organizations with existing structures and missions, there are time savings and, more importantly, no new entities need be created. Of course, annual stipends may well need to be increased, longer service may be needed, and funding will be needed.

Such an effort will provide significant employment and will provide hope and a good start on the future of our youth.
