Republican Debate. Romney won, almost by default. Perry did OK but, as Gail Collins pointed out, do they really want to nominate someone who makes Mitt Romney look clever.

FYI Over the weekend, I signed up on Americans Elect, an organization that intends to put a candidate, selected by its members, on 2012 presidential ballot in all 50 states. Among its leaders is Mark McKinnon, respected Republican adviser.
Don't know if will be successful, but looks like fun.
