ARAFAT

Yasir Arafat is a failed leaders who seems about to become a fallen leader. He did much for the cause of Palestine but, when the chips were down for Mideast peace, he failed his people.

But the man doe not deserve the circus going on around him in France. Arafat has a strange blood disease that the medical expert can't diagnose. He's dead; he's not dead. He's in a final coma; it's a reversible coma. Palestinian leaders plan to come to visit him; rhen they cancel; now they're coming. His wife, Suha, claims that his would be successors want to bury him alive; and she won't let them in.

Now all we need is Governor Jeb Bush taking action to prevent the removal of life support.

ELECTION DESPAIR

To get over it will take a while. If ever. I used to follow the news assiduously, but now I hardly care.

51% voted for a person who doesn't believe in evolution. And, according to a study by a project at the University of Maryland., 70% of Bush supporters believe that we have "clear evidence" that Saddam Hussein was working closely with Al Qaeda, one-third of them believe that we found weapons of mass destruction, and one-third believe that a substantial majority of world opinion supported our invasion of Iraq.

So it was not just "moral values" and religion. Or is ignorance a religion?
