House Energy Committee Chairman Fred Upton Denies Human Role In Climate Change
The fox is guarding the henhouse.
OBESITY AND ABORTION
"Michelle Obama, who has .... lobbied Congress and crisscrossed the United States to promote the virtues of healthy eating and exercise, wants to take her campaign to reduce childhood obesity to a bigger audience: the global one."
Sarah Palin and other Republicans have complained that this is big brother activity with the Federal government telling citizens what they can eat. "Taking away our freedom -- interfering with our liberty.
Isn't it strange that they would decry healthy food recommendations, while interfering mightily with a woman's right to choose, to control her own reproductive rights? I thought that Republicans want limited government , not an expansive one that monitors and restricts abortions all over our country.

REAGAN CENTENNIAL
Today, Republicans will indulge in a torrent of Reagan worship. That's OK. A likable man, Mr. Reagan did a number of good things as our President.
But let us not forget that, in addition to Iran Contra, he took a minor action that may well have had a far reaching effect. Mr. Reagan had removed from the White House the solar panels that Jimmy Carter had installed. Thus, Ronald Reagan played a role in the Republican denial of the facts of climate change and their continuing opposition to measures that are needed to save our planet.
