Obamacare
"Yet President Obama, who had promised in 2009, 'if you like your health
plan, you will be able to keep your health plan,' was still saying in
2012, 'If [you] already have health insurance, you will keep your health
insurance.' "
Republicans are having a field day with this because in the limited cases where an individual has an insurance plan now deemed to be inadequate, and the insurer will require upgrading, the individual loses the existing plan.
Note, 2 things: The Act has provisions that permit this result but does not require it; and the individual is not required to change from this existing plan.
Also note: the Republicans are treating this as a blatant lie but somehow this scenario is one they have failed to point out for almost a whole year.
